These unethical topics often appear in essays because they are important in an essay.
In my opinion, the most important ethical topics for essays are those concerning sex and love. It is probably the best way to get across your position on this subject. A good rule of thumb is to try to use the least controversial ideas possible - and this is very important if you want to avoid being ridiculed. I have two opinions on this subject, which I will not venture into here. My first and most obvious opinion is that sex, in the natural state of things, should be a private matter between consenting adults. As such, the discussion of it in public might well cause offence, and I would prefer to keep out of it as much as possible. But my second opinion is that it is a very significant topic for an essay. As mentioned above, I would not write a rape essay or one that discusses homosexuality unless I thought that no one would find it offensive. So here are my ethical topics for essays. The first is how to feel when the other person is making love to you. The second is how much do we care about one another? There is some satisfaction in knowing you have completed what can only be called the grand moral task of love and loyalty. Perhaps it is a good idea to just pay attention to the happy situation and pretend that you are part of it rather than look upon the picture with suspicion. Like that is your view on it, we are simply reporting what happened, what has happened. In response to what James Gittins said at the beginning of the last page, I'm afraid it is very difficult to draw a line between ethical and immoral topics for essays. In the same way, it is difficult to define an acceptable truth, a reasonable approach or a right attitude. Many of these things are subjective, and some of them aren't - so for each subject I would say 'see the sunshine'. And if you've made the choice, then find the best grounds to take this sunshine to the reader and to yourself.
